Project Summary
Formula was contracted by Keyera Corporation, a mid-stream oil and gas company, for the replacement of an existing 70m long 4 span steel girder bridge at 53km on the Simonette Road, South of Valleyview Alberta. The Simonette Road provides access to major oil and gas exploration and development. The new structure is a 73.5m single lane continuous span bridge consisting of two lines of steel plate girders supporting precast concrete deck panels, Foundations consist of driven 20” diameter steel pipe piles at the abutments (4 piles/abutment) and drilled 20” pipe piles at the two pier locations (10 piles/pier). The scope of work also included construction of approximately 300m of approach roadway. The project was on an accelerated schedule to facilitate the delivery of large oversize components to a gas plant expansion and Formula completed the works 4 days ahead of the accelerated milestone date
