  • Project Name: Bell Irving Bridge
  • Location: Northwest, BC
  • Sector: Mining
  • Timeline Start: December 31, 2021

The scope included the construction and removal of a temporary 85-meter bridge and the installation of a 119-meter permanent bridge, inclusive of the approach fills, abutments, and foundations.

Detailed scope included:

  • Supply and installation of all temporary erosion and sediment control infrastructure
  • Supply and installation of rip rap for abutment scour protection

  • Managing Project Controls

Throughout the duration of the project crews maintained access on the temporary bridge at all times for the client’s construction needs while also using temporary bridge for permanent bridge construction needs.

Crews encountered numerous challenges; weather, logistics (remote location), artesian water flows, and granular material availability.

Some accomplishments of this project included: construction of a temporary bridge and completion without access to the opposite side and the launching of 119 meter of continuous steel girders.
