Formula completed the emergency works for the Nicomen section of Highway #1 after the impact from BC’s atmospheric river.

Scope included:

• Demolition and removal of a 24-meter steel girder concrete precast deck bridge founded on spread footings
• Installation of a replacement 36-meter steel girder bridge deck with modular deck panels founded on piling on Nicomen Nation Road
• Preservation of a triple span steel girder bridge founded on concrete pier columns; included installation of temporary supports for one main pier column which was undermined
• Construction of tote roads
• Design and install temporary structural works to shore up bridge, restore pier column foundation and jack bridge spans back into original orientation.
