BRUCEJACK MINE – MILL BUILDING INTERNAL STEEL ERECTION

Formula Contractors was awarded the supply and fabrication, including the engineering and design of all the required connections and all coatings, of all the internal structural and external portal building steel framing, platforms, floor decking, floor grating, stairs, guardrails, ladders, and other miscellaneous structural steel items at the Brucejack Mine Project.  During the period of the project Formula managed the supply on an accelerated of approximately 1,800,000 kg of structural steel, 3,800 m2 of grating, 4,400 m2 of elevated deck, 3,500 lm of handrail with kick plate and 254 vm of stairs. The installation of this material was completed primarily with Formula labor and equipment.   

BRUCEJACK MINE – STEEL ERECTION

Using Formula’s 230 crawler crane, this project consisted of the erection of the main camp pad steel grillage.

FORREST KERR POWERHOUSE
Completed: June 2014
Owner: AltaGas, Coast Mountain Hydro Electric

Using a 160 ton overhead crane, this project consisted of the erection of crane steel, mezzanine steel, and intake steel. The Forrest Kerr Powerhouse is the first ever run-of-the-river powerhouse constructed underground and will generate 195 MW of power when it comes online in the spring of 2014.

FORREST KERR POWERHOUSE PENSTOCK

Installation of nine, 10ft penstocks and nine draft tubes within the Forrest Kerr Powerhouse. Each penstock is 47 meters long, weighs 110 thousand pounds, and had to be moved through the intake tunnel prior to placement.

ENDAKO MINE EXPANSION

Erection of 1,400 tonnes of steel for the new 92,000 square foot process mill at the Endako Mine project. Formula provided all crew, equipment and engineered procedures to complete this project on time and budget.

BEAR MOUNTAIN SUB-STATION
Completed: January 2009
Owner: Bear Mountain Wind Energy

Structural Steel Erection for an electrical sub-station located near Dawson Creek, BC. Formula provided all engineered drawings and steel erection. The tallest tower was 16.5m and a total of 35,000 kg of galvanized steel was erected.
